This legendary actor is widely celebrated as one of Hollywood’s greatest talents, having portrayed nearly 100 unforgettable characters throughout a remarkable career that spans more than six decades. The 87-year-old Los Angeles native has earned the industry’s highest honor — the Academy Award — twice, in 1980 and 1989. But who is the famous figure recently spotted in New York looking almost completely transformed?
It’s none other than Dustin Hoffman.

The iconic star appeared to be keeping a low profile, sporting a full beard, sunglasses, a baseball cap, black pants, white sneakers, and a loose blue button-down shirt. He was out alone — without his wife, Lisa Hoffman, whom he married in 1980. Together, the couple shares four children: Jacob, Rebecca, Maxwell, and Ali. Their connection goes back decades, long before romance entered the picture.
Surprisingly, Lisa and Dustin first crossed paths at a family barbecue when she was just 10 years old and he was 27. Their families were close because Dustin’s mother and Lisa’s grandmother were friends. At that gathering, the future Tootsie star entertained Lisa and her brother with jokes and his piano playing — even coaxing young Lisa into dancing.

Years later, they reunited at her grandfather’s funeral. By then, Lisa was 22 and Dustin was 38, newly separated from his first wife, Anne Byrne. Soon after that reconnection, they went on their first date — and the rest became a lifelong love story.
Lisa often speaks warmly about their marriage. “They say one year in Hollywood is like seven anywhere else — so multiply that by seven,” she joked in an interview with Closer. She added that they are “more in love than ever,” and that their bond has only deepened after more than four decades together. Before marrying Lisa, Dustin was married to Anne Byrne from 1969 to 1980, and they have two daughters: Jenna (53) and Karina (57).
Lisa also remembers a sweet childhood memory. “After we started dating, my grandmother reminded me that I once told her, ‘I hope he waits for me because I want to marry him.’”

As fate would have it, that wish came true.
“I knew when I married Dasti that his life—and therefore mine—would involve constant travel,” Lisa reflected. “We’ve worked hard to make our relationship last.”
And clearly, that work has paid off — their love remains strong after more than 40 years.
